Our mission is to provide a
Christ-centered, Seventh-day Adventist, affordable,
distance college education. WMMC is devoted to
incorporating the wealth of information about
education with which the Seventh-day Adventist
church has been blessed, promoting and providing
this to our students and families, understanding
that there are immense benefits to be realized
by following His plan. Since our primary purpose
in education is to better prepare our students
to work for God, it is our fervent desire to train
our students to serve the Lord through their occupations-thus
our motto, To Learn... To Serve.
Position Statement
WMMC's statement of faith, to which each prospective member should hold.
WMMC is dedicated to the principals of happiness, Holiness and Godliness with which God has blessed our denomination, as revealed through the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy.
Because of the above, candidates are sought who have a personal relation with God and who make the Bible their constant study. Thus administrative decisions will be made based upon revealed inspiration and Scriptural authority.
Sadly, there are Adventist members today that are attempting to change our historic doctrinal beliefs, making them fit and mold into the opinions of secular society or more closely resemble those of generic Christianity. Therefore, it is important that WMMC members decidedly reject this trend and steadfastly support our historic Adventist doctrinal positions.
Thus faculty members are sought who believe the following:
- Gods written counsel, in both Scripture and the writings of Ellen White, is the supreme authority in spiritual matters, over and above human opinion, human scholarship, and human experience.
- Biblical writers and Ellen White were both divinely inspired.
- The fundamental, historic teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church are still relevant today, especially distinctive doctrines such as the investigative judgment beginning in 1844, and that the SDA Church is the remnant church of Bible prophecy.
- Classic Adventist teachings on salvation, such as both justification and sanctification being the ground of our salvation; with Christ taking our fallen humanity; and the possibility of overcoming sin in this life.
- Worship standards should be established by both Scripture and the writings of Ellen White, including reverence in God's sanctuary, and the avoidance of "Christian" rock, and various musical hybrids.
- We believe the lifestyle standards upheld by inspiration, such as abstaining from health practices forbidden by Scripture and the Spirit of Prophesy, the avoidance of jewelry, and inspiration-based standards of Sabbath-keeping, entertainment and modest dress.
- Mission service is a contemporary need, both within and beyond our countries of origin. Ellen White is clear regarding the fact that mission service is essential for both youth and adults and must be an integral part of modern education. Education without mission training, is a breach of our high calling and a disservice to our students.
WMMC is a unique institution that is dedicated to upholding these increasingly unpopular directives. It is only by having a unified and dedicated staff, that WMMC will be able to proceed single-mindedly, as we face future challenges.WMMC seeks a few, well disciplined and dedicated individuals who will not allow modern trends to side-track them from fulfilling God's plan in their teaching responsibilities.
Facultyshould have a firm belief in the purpose and goals of WMMC, and a fervent desire to play an integral part in planning and establishing the college.Faculty should be motivated and creative, and have the ability to work independently and without supervision.
Thesepositions will bevolunteer until such time that sufficient tuition funds are available to pay a competitive wage. Candidates must approach these positions from the standpoint that WMMC is a missionary endeavor. While it is believed that these positions will eventually support a reasonably competitive salary at some point in the future, it is not known when these funds will materialize.
Most importantly, it is paramount that each prospective candidate closely assess whether their goals and values are consistent with a self-sacrificing, mission-oriented, conservative, church-supporting organization. Even though these positions will most likely, eventually be appropriately remunerated, candidates must not apply to WMMC from a purely financial perspective. Serving the Lord and fulfilling His goals in education, must be the first and highest priority with which we all approach WMMC.
Lastly, WMMC is a conservative organization, as our name implies. Thus, it is imperative that we have members that firmly adhere to the distinctive teachings of our denomination, possessing the precision and passion that that our future students should expect.
We ask that you carefully, honestly and with spiritual commitment review the above standards and see if becoming part of WMMC fits your understanding of how you can best contribute to providing a program that so many Adventists need today.
