His service includes seven years as pastor in Illinois Conference, seven years as Religion teacher at Pacific Union College, ten years as head of Religion department, academic dean, and president at Atlantic Union College, seven years as associate editor of Review and Herald, seven years as vice president of Pacific Press Publishing Association, seven years as president of Weimar Institute, four years as vice president for development, Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, MI; consultant for Development at Amazing Facts. Author of 18 books, including Messenger of the Lord (college and seminary textbook), God At Risk, Should We Ever Say, 'I Am Saved', Truth Matters, Why Jesus Waits, Faith, Saying Yes to God, They Were There, The End, etc.
