Q.1. When
will WMMC begin accepting students?
WMMC is now in the process of organizing and recruiting
faculty. With the Lord's blessing, our goal is
to begin matriculation in 2006. However, there
are a number of obstacles that could slow the
process, so no official opening date can now be
predicted. WMMC is a courageous undertaking that
will only succeed with the fervent prayers and
support of fellow committed Christians. Please
consider how you may play a roll in this worthy
endeavor.

Q.2. What exactly
is a CLEP style of exam?
Many people are familiar with the concept of the
CLEP model of obtaining college credit. Historically,
gifted high-school students could take a college
CLEP exam in a subject in which they had particular
expertise. Upon successful completion of the exam,
they were given equivalent college credit. This
was a fast and inexpensive way of completing a
course.
While the CLEP approach has always been useful
for the "intellectual elite", who already knew
the material, the majority of students had to
attend class three hours a week for a full semester
to complete the same 3 credit hour class, while
spending a staggering amount on tuition. Few students
realized that anyone could take a CLEP exam, if
they were willing to obtain a review book, study
the material for a few weeks, and then take the
exam, thus avoiding many expensive and time-consuming
hours in class. Unfortunately, CLEP exams are
only available for a limited number of courses.
In an institutional setting, many students only
attend class because attendance is required or
because they are hoping to obtain information
that will be on the instructor's exam. WMMC is
founded on the principal that students can learn
successfully at home from reading a book with
a well-written study guide - accomplishing the
same objective as the traditional method of class
attendance. The study guide can be thought of
as the lecture in print, rather than spoken.
At this time, WMMC does not offer the "official" CLEP exams, but we are in the process of organizing our classes after the CLEP model. A number of organizations offer similar courses such as DANTES and Excelsior College. A number of third-party publishers have produced study guides that assist students in learning the material for the exams. For the most part, students who faithfully read these study guides can perform quite well on the associated exam. Amazingly, many only have to read the study guide twice in order to be successful! It is upon this well-established, accepted and accredited concept of education, that WMMC is founded.

Q.3. Isn't
WMMC a needless duplication of Adventist educational
entities already in existence?
While we have many excellent and noteworthy denominational
post-secondary schools, WMMC is designed to meet
the needs of a different set of students - those
who for various reasons wish to study from the
convenience of home, or who are unable to move
or commute to one of our denominational campuses.
Another important reason for its establishment,
is to provide an Adventist Education for substantially
lower tuition rates, due to the fact that, being
distance-based, we have substantially less expenses.
With no campus, costly buildings etc, we can provide
a greatly reduced tuition. We also utilize international
faculty, which further reduces our expenses.

Q.4. Isn't
the term "Missionary" a bit outdated, antiquated
and offensive to individuals in some developing
countries?
Because of various political, social and contemporary
pressures present today, the term
missionary
has lost much of the status that it once had in
the early years of our denominational work. However,
organizations like
Global Missions, Global
Evangelism, Adventist Frontier Missions and
the like, have demonstrated that missionary work
is still alive and well.
It has been said that
Truth is never established
by popular vote, and nowhere is this more
accurate than in the arena of missionary work.
The Messenger of the Lord has much to say about
the essential roll that missionary work will play
up until the very end of time. While the term
missionary is certainly unpopular among certain
groups today, the roll of the missionary worker
is essential and thus the proper education of
missionaries, which are to labor both in and outside
their respective countries, is to be a crucial
component of the education of all students who
are preparing to play an active part in finishing
the Lord's work.

Q.5. What
is the purpose of naming the school White Memorial?
WMMC assumes the position that God has unusually
blessed the Seventh-day Adventist denomination
with His counsel from His messenger Ellen G. White.
While the phraseology in her writings is dated
by 100 plus years, the message in her writings
is contemporary, relevant and necessary to guide
Gods people through our responsibilities in these
last days.
Every Christian organization must determine its
own unique philosophy for how it will be operated
and governed. The WMMC administration has, without
question, witnessed the hand of God in the writings
of His messenger Ellen G. White. Therefore, we
consider it a privilege to associate ourselves
with this inspired writer. It is part of our founding
principals, that our students will also be given
the privilege of learning more about the blessings
God has for all those who love and cherish her
writings.

Q.6. Do you
accept tithes?
Absolutely not!
We wish to make it clear that WMMC is a committed
Supporter of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination
and a follower of the counsel of the Lord's messenger
regarding the proper use of Tithes and Offerings.
As such, despite the fact that we need generous
contributions, we need the blessing of God even
more. Therefore,
we do not solicit Tithes,
nor can we accept them. Any checks marked as Tithe
will be returned to the sender, with a friendly
note of encouragement to support our worthy worldwide
church, for
without a Seventh-day Denomination,
WMMC has no need for existing. It is far better
that we never open our doors, than accept one
cent of the Lord's tithe that does not belong
to us.
Without hesitation, our organized church is worthy
of your Tithes & Offerings and deserves your first
and most liberal contributions. We also want to
emphasize the fact that our established and struggling
denominational colleges and universities are equally
worthy and covet your liberal prayers and generous
financial gifts. While their tuition is much higher
than ours, their expenses are exceedingly greater
than ours as well. Distance education is not for
everyone and a campus setting is the right choice
for many, therefore remember them as you budget
your donations.

Q.7. What
grading system will be used by WMMC?
WMMC will be on the semester system, and will
grade on the four point scale. WMMC's commitment
is to teach our students and not to hinder their
joyous learning experience. Those students who
put forth sincere and realistic effort, will be
rewarded with grades that reflect their level
of didactic enthusiasm.
WMMC is committed to the position that it is not
necessary to make a course of study tricky or
unreasonably demanding in order to be considered
an appropriate education. We want to focus on
keeping the learning experience pleasant and profitable!
We will make every effort to keep our didactics
sensible, true-to-life and the test questions
reasonable and practical. Any student who wishes
to make an A, and is willing to put forth the
effort, will not be hindered or obstructed from
accomplishing their goals. We have designed our
educational philosophy in such a way that our
students can be maximally productive in the shortest
period of time, so that our students are able
to truly accomplish their educational objectives
with minimal obstacles.

Q.8. Will WMMC accept students of other denominations?
Yes. However, they will be expected to uphold
all the stated standards and participate in the
various evangelistic programs just as their SDA
counterparts. WMMC's first priority is students
of the Seventh-day Adventist faith, being established
specifically to further their education. However,
students of other faiths will be considered as
positions are available.

Q.9. Isn't instruction
in a conventional class setting essential for
a well-rounded education?
This is a common myth. Despite all the many positive
attributes that a conventional class setting offers,
the home setting offers significant learning advantages
as well. Some advantages offered in the home setting
include: the ability to study from the peace and
quiet of home, the advantage of progressing at
ones own pace (many distance students prefer an
accelerated pace), no commute or move to a college
is necessary, students can work courses into their
own schedule at whatever time of day is most convenient
for them.
The last 20 plus years have experienced unprecedented growth in the Homeschool phenomena. Families and students are discovering the many benefits of learning at home. Most of these students have developed the art of self-study, realizing that it is not necessary to have a teacher verbally repeating everything that is plainly printed in their book, which they are able to study and learn themselves, at their own pace.
Distance college courses are now being offered
from a number of accredited colleges and universities
in America. We would like to meet the needs of
those Seventh-day Adventist students who would
enjoy attending college in a Christ-centered distance-based
Adventist establishment.

Q.10. What
will be the cost of tuition?
One of WMMC's founding fundamental principals
of operation is the commitment to an affordable
education. We anticipate an opening tuition of
less than $5,000/year. With the Lord's blessing,
as our attendance grows, we hope to eventually
reduce the amount even further. Pray that we will
accomplish everyone's goal - a Christ-Centered,
accredited education, with minimal to no debt.

Q.11. How
do international faculty fit into WMMC's operation?
Today, we have been blessed with modern technology
allowing us the unusual ability to utilize the
skills and talents of well-endowed and renowned
faculty from around the globe. This will allow
us to markedly reduce our tuition, by incorporating
faculty from regions where the US dollar is extraordinarily
strong. By utilizing every means of keeping our
costs low, we will be able to extend this benefit
to our students and accomplish our goal of an
affordable education.

Q.12. What is meant by the statement that WMMC is dedicated to the principals of education as outlined by the Spirit of Prophecy?
Our sincere desire is to approach the mission
of education, from God's point of view - as outlined
in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophesy. We aspire
to implement to the best of our ability all the
inspired counsel we have been given on education.
This indeed is a formidable challenge, but the
results are honestly "out of this world". Our
objective is to provide an education that will
assist our students in achieving the best possible
education in this life, and equip them with the
necessary skills that will allow them to function
as bona fide ambassadors of Christ - with an attitude
of desiring to continually be about our Father's
business - tirelessly, resolutely and persistently
winning souls for God's Kingdom.
It is important that all students undertaking
classes in our school, be oriented to the fact
that E.G. White's inspired writings are a beautiful
gift from God. They are nothing short of detailed
principals of happiness, that if properly implemented,
will result in unparalleled blessings to all those
who recognize and cherish God's end-time instructions.
